Pressed Cheese Sandwich

I couldn’t advocate more for rubbing in some garlic to any non-breakfast toasted bread! Make this delicious cheese sandwich with a kick in under 5 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 small baguette, cut in half;
  • 1 tsp butter;
  • 2 slices of cheese;
  • 2 cherry tomatoes, thinly sliced;
  • a few basil leaves, finely chopped;
  • 1 garlic clove;
  • salt;
  • pepper

Steps:

  1. Melt the butter on the pan. Toast the bread a little bit on each side.
  2. Remove the bread from the pan, add cheese, tomatoes, and basil. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Return the sandwich to the pan. Press the sandwich halves together to make it more compact, and cook until heated through, the cheese is melted, and the baguette is golden brown.
  4. Move the sandwich to the plate and rub the surface of the bread with garlic.
